The University of Kent has recently approved a major investment in new postgraduate studentships and Kent Law School can now offer two studentships - deadline for applications 31 July 2006. These studentships are only available for new postgraduate students, not for those currently registered. (They are in addition to the existing KLS Teaching Assistantships, that have already been allocated).

Departmental Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2006 For New Research Students from September 2006
Deadline for receipt of applications - 31 July 2006
Kent Law School is offering two Postgraduate Research Scholarships to new research students from September 2006.
These scholarships will cover tuition fees at the home rate and a maintenance grant at approximately the same rate as the Research Councils. Holders of the scholarships, as part of their research training, may be expected to teach a maximum of 6 hours per week.
The scholarships will be offered for one year in the first instance, renewable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Selection Criteria
The candidates must hold an excellent Bachelor's (1 or 2.1), or Master's degree (merit or distinction).
Application Process
Applications should include:
research proposal
CV (including a contact email address)
covering letter
two academic references
your proposed course of study and qualification
official confirmation of your degree results.
You can send the above information via email.
However, official confirmation of your degree results should be mailed to the Departmental Administrator at the address below. Photocopies of these documents are not acceptable.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 31 July 2006.
Candidates are reminded that an application will not be considered until all documents have been received. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure that all documents, including references, are received by the Departmental Administrator by the closing date of 31 July 2006.
